How CoirCat began
The story of the CoirCat team began with the growing concern of cat lovers in Vietnam, who were increasingly worried about the impact of traditional cat litter (made from clay and chemicals) on their pets’ health and the environment. Driven by our love for cats and a commitment to protecting the planet, our team set out to find a natural solution. Along the way, we took notice of coconut coir, a material found everywhere in Vietnam, easily sourced from discarded coconut husks, and commonly used for mats, ropes, or fertilizer, yet no one in the industry had considered turning it into cat litter. One day, during our experiments, we were amazed to discover that this coir absorbed water exceptionally well, igniting a spark of hope. With excitement and determination, the CoirCat team turned this idea into reality, creating Coconut Coir Cat Litter—a product born from our love for cats, creativity, and dedication to delivering a sustainable solution for both families and nature.
